This the ITALERI kit of the M-47 with addition of aclick to enlarge number of parts from other kits.
The sprocket, towing hooks, hull front MG and loader’s hatch springs came from the ACADEMY M-51 SHERMAN kit. The AN/VSS-3A/B searchlight is a part from another ACADEMY kit, the M-60A1 RISE/PASSIVE, the M-2 HMG is an after market part from SKYBOW.
The turret’s cast texture was made by use of a motor tool but it is a little too rough . The ROK’s M-47 have a searchlight spare mount on the turret right hand side. This was made scratch from brass sheet mainly.
The wire guard in front of the M-2 HMG was made from brasswire.
The ROK M-47’s track tensioning wheel (between the sprocket and 6th roadwheel) is deleted and a small disc fills the former mount of the tensioning wheel bar. The track is the excellent AFV Club T-84E2 track.
The ROK color scheme is made up of green, brown (light khaki + light brown and a little blue) the small black/white areas are TAMIYA acrlics. The kit received an oil paint wash and humbrol enamel drybrushing.
All ROK AFV have three signal flags (some M-109A2 has 4 flags). This is a very colorful feature. The flags were made from brasswire and paper.
Other AFV’s have the flags mounted on the turret, the K-200 have them mounted on the M-2 shield and the M-47 on M-2 magazine mount.
